Preparing for Performance . .
Echo Wilson, pianist extraordinaire, and I will have the pleasure of performing at
the Monthly Meeting for the Opera Guild of Granbury on Tuesday, April 5th, 2011. The program includes 3 opera arias, 2 songs from Broadway Musicals and 1 Progressive Country Song. The opera arias include “Hello, Oh, Margaret it’s you” from Menotti’s opera buffa in one act The Telephone, Deh vieni, non tardar from Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro and “I have dreamt” from Wuthering Heights an opera by Bernard Hermann. We believe that our program will be well received. Although the name of the guild is Opera Guild of Granbury they rarely have programs that include opera. The concert will take place at the DeCordova Bend Clubhouse in Granbury. I’m especially looking forward to singing Lucy’s aria from The Telephone because I have my red dial telephone now.
While shopping in the new Sprouts in Fort Worth, I ran into a wonderful friend, Ann Wardlaw, who just happened to have the perfect Red-Old-Style-Dial-Phone. It is the perfect prop. Thank you Ann.
