Glen Hulme

Glen began the program at the worst of times and the best of times: on his birthday AND just prior to the holiday season!

Glen was referred to me by another Fort Worth client and he comes in to our family practice clinic off Berry Street for weekly weigh-ins. His goals were to reduce his use of insulin and get his blood sugar in control, which happened within three days of eating Medifast replacement meals. After less than two months on the program he wrote this to me:

Date: Wed, 30 Dec 2009

Thanks Carla,

I am pretty proud of myself too. I usually don’t get too excited about my accomplishments, but I am really happy with the way this program is working for my health goals. I am really amazed since we started this adventure at the worst possible time of the year to lose weight. My goal of 172 (on my scales naked) or 175 (on your scales dressed) by July 1st seems very attainable now. I was afraid my goal to lose 65 pounds in 8 months was more optimistic than reality based. I think weighing in every Tuesday has been really beneficial as the one week I had slipped I was embarrassed so I really rededicated myself to make sure I did not allow Christmas lunch to have the same negative effect. Having someone as supportive as you are and who gets excited about my progress certainly makes it easier to say no to bad food and to work harder on the treadmill.

PS: TCU’s football theme song this year is “I won’t back down”. So stay on my case, please. :-)
